NPT stands for National Pipe tapered threads. It is a U.S. standard for measuring tapered threads on threaded pipes and fittings. Unlike straight threads found on a bolt, taper threads will pull tight, making a closer seal. To change the beam angle on a NPT knuckle mount flood, simply loosen the thumb screw, move the fixture to the desired position and then retighten the screw.
